Approaching learning from a holistic business perspective

Many companies operate in silos. Project management, operations, executives, human resources, technology, etc. True success comes from aligning all funtions toward the common goal. Ensuring everyone fully understands the interdepencies of each role to all others. This is often perceived as "crossing out of your lane". In my experience, the people who perform best in any project see the bigger picture and navigate the complexity as a requirement of their own success.

My L&D team was often brought in at the end of a project expecting that we could create custom training programs with little to no lead time. Our questions were met with puzzled expressions as things no one ever thought of. The most successful projects were those where we were included from the start and able to partner with all functional experts to design the best possible experience for the PEOPLE who needed to do the work and lead the teams successfully.
